{"id":11289,"date":"2024-10-14T10:46:50","date_gmt":"2024-10-14T10:46:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/stpaulsmonasterevin.ie\/?p=11289"},"modified":"2025-01-04T22:42:13","modified_gmt":"2025-01-04T22:42:13","slug":"headstrong-summit-2024","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/saoilearning.com\/index.php\/2024\/10\/14\/headstrong-summit-2024\/","title":{"rendered":"Headstrong Summit 2024"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Highlights from the HEADSTRONG Summit held at the Royal Hospital Kilmainham!!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ms. Murray, Ms Barrett and Ms. Ni Eimhin who are members of the&nbsp;<em>National Headstrong Schools Team&nbsp;<\/em>facilitated an exciting training day for a number of secondary schools who will be completing the evidence-based HEADSTRONG Programme 2024\/25.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>HEADSTRONG teaches students how to reduce stigma and become mental health champions in their schools. It challenges students to examine the dangers of stereotypes and the harm created by stigma.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Students got the opportunity to;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; hear stories of hope and recovery from speakers with lived experiences while focusing on the following themes; Gambling, Bullying and Eating Disorders<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; participate in stigma-busting activities&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; listen to brief talks from the following Mental Health Organisations supports;&nbsp;Shine,&nbsp;Childline, Spunout&nbsp;&amp; Bodywhys<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; design action plans to use when they returned to school<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Headstrong inspires young people to&nbsp;<em>Be Brave, Reach Out and Speak Up<\/em>&nbsp;about mental health.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A massive congratulations to&nbsp;St. Paul&#8217;s Headstrong Ambassadors who received their&nbsp;Cycle Against Suicide Ambassador&#8217;s school status for the 3rd year running.
